Gear Review
The Air Zoom GP Turbo is a new ultra-plush tennis shoe model from Nike, recently seen on the feet of ATP pro Frances Tiafoe and WTA star Naomi Osaka. Built for top-notch performance with some retro nods, the GP Turbos take the place of the Zoom Zeros in Nike's lineup. They sport some much-needed updates, including a wider fit and generous cushioning from the full-length Zoom Air unit. The men and women on our playtest team took to the courts to put these shoes through their paces. Three of the four playtesters found the length to run short and sized up a half size. After the size adjustment, the testers raved about the GP Turbo's comfort and durability. The traction was on the slicker side, perfect for players who like to slide on court, and the stability kept our testers moving confidently. On the downside, the playtesters did note that they were left looking for a little more support and ventilation. At the end of the playtest, our team's main takeaway was that the Nike GP Turbos offer a level of comfort virtually unmatched on the market today.
