Control Too firm for beginners
You can't buy spin because it comes overwhelmingly from technique. However, if you want a tennis string that makes hitting spin easier, our playtesters have a very solid recommendation. It's called Volkl V-Square, and our team gave it a spin score that was just shy of perfect. Almost everything about V-Square, from its sharp edges and vicious snapback to its impressive pocketing and predictability on full swings, helps generate spin. In addition to outstanding spin potential, our playtesters reported impressive comfort and pocketing, making V-Square one of the more accessible polys they've tested. Although this may broaden its appeal with intermediates, some advanced players might prefer the stiffer and more connected feel they get from Cyclone, Volkl's most popular co-poly. Ultimately, though, if you're looking to add more spin to your game, it's awfully hard to top V-Square.
